DESIGNED FOR JOY CELEBRATES 6 MONTHS OF INFLUENCING CHANGE
Ribbon cutting and grand opening in partnership with Downtown Raleigh Alliance

Designed for Joy (DFJ), a local, faith-based nonprofit organization, launched sales of its exclusive designs in September 2017. Their studio showcases home décor and jewelry pieces designed by designer Kristen Sydow and handcrafted by community artisans who participate in the organization’s program. Since the shop opened six months ago, sales proceeds have helped provide a more than 1,100 living wage hours to program participants, who eventually graduate the program with workforce skills and job references, empowering them to succeed long-term.

“We are so excited to celebrate six months of influencing change right here in the Triangle,” said Cary Heise, DFJ founder and executive director. “Come celebrate with us and learn more about the bigger plan to impact our local marketplace for good.”

Located in downtown Raleigh in Boylan Heights, DFJ serves women from all across the Triangle. The organization is working to establish partnerships that reflect this broad community footprint.

The public is invited and welcome to attend. A reception will immediately follow the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
