New Downtown Raleigh "Give Back" Boutique Celebrates Grand Opening

RALEIGH, NC (January 25, 2017) – The Downtown Raleigh Alliance (DRA), on behalf of Emily Sexton, is excited to announce the grand opening of The Flourish Market on Friday, January 27 at noon at 713 Tucker Street.

The Flourish Market soft-opened its storefront in late 2016 just in time for the holiday shopping season after operating as a fashion truck for more than a year.  Their selection includes women’s clothing and accessories, as well as gifts for everyone from babies to grandparents.

Complimentary food will be onsite as part of Friday’s celebration.  The Flourish Market will stay open late with food, drinks, and live music from 6 pm – 9 pm.  One lucky shopper will also win $250 gift card.

Each of the more than 40 brands carried at the boutique help provide dignified jobs to vulnerable persons from developing nations and the United States.

Owner Emily Sexton says empowering and employing victims of sex trafficking and other crimes is an important part of her mission.

“About 30% of our merchandise is made by sex trafficking survivors,” she says.  “We’ve also partnered with the Red Cross for Human Trafficking Awareness Month to collect clothes and toiletries that will be provided to women who have been rescued from trafficking right here in Raleigh.”

The Flourish Market is the first recipient of the Building Up-Fit Grant from the city of Raleigh.
