Keep an Eye out for First Friday Pop-Ups While Wandering Around the Warehouse District

First Friday Raleigh, presented by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, is a self-guided art walk showcasing the vibrant art and creative community in Downtown Raleigh on the first Friday of every month from 6-9 pm (bars and restaurants stay open even later!). The free public event features a variety of local art galleries and studios, museums and exhibitors that stay open late, put on special events and often offer refreshments.

This First Friday, there are TWO pop-up events in the Warehouse District, so we put together an itinerary for you to easily plan an evening wandering around downtown.

Visit the First Friday venues page for all locations, specials, and more.

Hop Around the Warehouse Galleries

You can’t spell First Friday without A-R-T. The Warehouse District is home to multiple art galleries showcasing work from local and nationally renowned artists. Stop by VAE, 311 Gallery, Local Color Gallery, Studio R.E.D., V L Rees Gallery and Litmus Gallery & Studios.

Grab a Bite to Eat

Wandering can stir up your appetite – better plan on stopping for an appetizer! Hop over to Five Star for a taste of China. They offer a First Friday special of $5 appetizers and $5 glasses of wine. If you haven’t tried their famous Heat Seeker Shrimp, you are missing out. If you're craving Italian food, hop over to Tuscan Blu in The Depot for an authentic Italian experience and 10% off any wine purchase.

Raleigh’s first ever pop-up bike lane led by the City of Raleigh and Oaks & Spokes will be on Harrington Street all weekend. There is an organized ride at Crank Arm Brewing so before that, be sure to stop by CAM Raleigh to decorate your bike and to learn more about the project from 6-8pm.

Peruse Special Art Features at Local shops

Stop by this First Friday to meet ERA Dream Living Realty’s featured artist of the month, Bethany Studnicky of Bethany Art & Design Co. Interact with the artist, enjoy a drink, and celebrate First Friday.
